The Top 5 Reasons Why We Love St. Louis

HBM takes great pride in our city of St. Louis and we would love to share with you our Top Five reasons why we are proud to call this city our home!

Some of us are natives of Missouri and others are transplants Regardless, we all are proud to call St. Louis our home for many reasons. Below we have listed the Top Five reasons why we love St. Louis.

Number 1: Sense of Community and Citizen Activism
A study by the Corporation for National & Community Service ranked St. Louis twenty-fourth in the country for volunteerism. The study noted that approximately one third of city residents are actively involved in volunteer activity. As a company, HBM is active in the St. Louis community through its involvement with the United Way of Greater St. Louis, Relay for Life, College Bound and World Pediatric Project. We take pride in always seeking ways to make positive contributions to the community.

Number 2: Culture
St. Louis takes pride in its cultural offering and treats access to the arts as a public right, not a privilege. City government has always seen the arts and culture as a way to elevate society, which is evidenced by the special property tax that subsidizes the Metropolitan Zoological Park and Museum District that includes several of the city’s world-class cultural institutions. Because of this, admission to many of the museums is free.

Number 3 : Forest Park
Forest Park encompasses 1,293 acres of land for public use and is home to the St. Louis Art Museum, the St. Louis Zoo, the St. Louis Science Center, the Missouri History Museum and the Muny Amphitheater. It also has a beautiful park where you can enjoy picnics, walking, jogging, biking, golf, tennis and a number of other outdoor activities.

Number 4 : The Cardinals
Busch Stadium is one of the best ballparks in the country – not only because the Cardinals are a classic American baseball team – but also due to the spectacular views of the city afforded every visitor. After becoming a resident of St. Louis, we are sure that baseball will become a large part of your life.

Number 5 : Not One, But Two Downtown Areas
Uniquely, St. Louis is home to two downtown centers that offer diverse cultural viewpoints. Clayton is one of the downtown areas that offers a more refined view of St. Louis where fine art galleries and boutiques, fancy dining and lavish hotels can be found. HBM’s corporate headquarters are located in Clayton where a fantastic selection of lunch spots and happy hour locales are a quick walk away. The St. Louis Arch, the Mississippi River and Busch Stadium are located in the main downtown area, in addition to many of St. Louis’ cultural attractions.
